Online Slots and Superstitious Players
Superstition is known as “any belief that is inconsistent with the known laws of science or with what is considered true and rational”. Online slot players can be just as superstitious as those who gamble in the more traditional brick and mortar casinos. These types of behaviors appear to be not only a common characteristics for many gamblers, but sometimes even a necessity. Some people might describe these traits as strange, however most players will agree that at one time or another, they too have tried just about anything to improve their chances of winning and playing their best game.
Some of the most common superstitious moves you might encounter with gamblers are the warming of their tokens or chips in their hands. Players think that by warming up their coins they will help the machine get hot and running. Even though online slot players can’t do this in the literal manner they still go ahead and warm up their coins in a more “spiritual” way. Another common belief players apply is placing their hand over each reel. The same thing occurs for online slot players as they will warm up their hand and place it on the screen of their personal computer. Another significant “good luck” emblem of superstitious players have are the good luck charms. Perhaps you’ve had one or at least you know someone that uses one to bring good fortune. These charms range from the common clover to more family related pictures or even religious symbols. Players are know to keep them close to them in case a big jackpot is coming their way.
Superstitious slot players are always hoping for the best outcome in their game play and hardly ever give up on their machines. They are the type of people who are hardheaded on trying to control and predict the randomness of their otherwise unpredictable slot games in hopes that somehow their beliefs will help them increase their chances for winning.
